Don’t forget to bring a dessert! Extreme Makeover: Home Edition We
want to let you know something very cool. The companies that manufacture our
cheerleading uniforms, Varsity Spirit, Varsity Fashions and CDT were part of an
amazing donation made to Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. These
cheerleading companies donated several boxes of cheerleading uniforms, camp wear
and decor and sent them with love to deserving young girls (sisters) who always
wanted a cheerleading room. The Collins family from a small town south of
Little Rock will be featured. Physicals If you did not receive a PIAA Physical Form in the mail, forms are available to download from the school website or you may click on this link: http://cvschools.org/athletics.cfm?subpage=38 In order to be valid, please do not have the physical forms signed by the doctor until after May 31st. Please add the sport CHEERLEADING to the form underneath the last sport and sign at that location. The PIAA Comprehensive Initial Pre-Participation Physical Evaluation (CIPPE) form and the Risk of Injury Acknowledgement and Emergency Form required to be completed prior to student athletes participating in practices, inter-school practices, scrimmages and/or contests. The CIPPE form will be kept on file by the Athletic Trainer and it will be the responsibility of the student athlete and his/her family to arrange for a comprehensive physical examination with a licensed physician of medicine or osteopathic medicine on a yearly basis. Effective June 1, 2007, the Cumberland Valley School District will only accept a yearly comprehensive physical; the initial pre-participation physical evaluation must be performed by a licensed physician of medicine or osteopathic medicine. The comprehensive physical evaluation will allow student athletes to participate in interscholastic athletics for twelve (12) months. A parent re-certification is required for each subsequent sports season and a medical re-certification is required if the student athlete: (1) suffers an illness or injury which renders the student unable to participate in 25% or more of the regular season contests in the immediately preceding sports season; (2) suffers an illness or injury which resulted in absence from school for ten (10) or more days and/or which requires surgery or deemed necessary by the athletic trainer; and/or (3) a yes box is checked on the parental re-certification form. Important Dates Please mark your calendars The Varsity team will have mandatory choreography practices on June 1, June 2, and June 3. These dates will be posted on the calendars distributed at Dessert Night. We will need everyone’s cooperation and attendance at all choreography practices.
