2008 CVYCA CHEERLEADING TEAMS Congratulations to everyone! We are incredibly excited about the upcoming season. Our veteran cheerleaders have improved their skills dramatically since last year’s tryouts, and we have many eager-to-learn new cheerleaders who have joined our CVYCA family. Please double check below for your child’s tryout number. Also, please check the reminders at the end of the team postings, and remember to join the CVYCA mailing list at the bottom of our homepage. REMINDERS- It Is Not Too late! Do you have a friend who is interested in joining the top rec cheerleading program in Pennsylvania? It is not too late! We have completed the regular tryout process but will still accept new athletes. They may contact Deanett at flemingde@comcast.net to register. 2008-09 CVYCA Board We are pleased to announce the 2008-09 CVYCA Board. President – Deanett Fleming, Vice-President – Judith Long, Treasurer – Denise Stine, Secretary – Tammy Dively. Committees are being formed for Picture Day, Fundraising, Cheer Gear Sale, and Uniform Distribution & Collection. If you are interested in serving on a committee, please contact Deanett at flemingde@comcast.net. Advisors Needed Our teams are managed and directed by Team Advisors (no cheerleading experience required). Please email Deanett if you are willing to serve in this capacity at flemingde@comcast.net. Uniform Fittings Uniform fitting details coming soon. Cheerleaders will be asked to wear a bathing suit under their clothing to make fitting uniforms easier. CVYCA Season Begins Tues., Aug. 5 at 6 pm in Eagle View Middle School Auditorium Plan to attend the very important parent meeting. Cheerleaders will practice until 8:00 pm after the parent meeting. Bring a water bottle! CV Cheer Camp in August CV Cheer Camp for all interested cheerleaders, hosted by the award-winning high school cheerleaders, will be held in August at Good Hope Middle School - $55 for the 2-day camp. Registration forms will be sent home through the CV elementary schools next week. Summer Tumbling Opportunities – Summer is the best time to tumble, tumble, and tumble! Consistency in taking tumbling lessons every week throughout the year is very important. Tumbling classes for cheerleaders are available at: CPAG 766-1030 Cheer Tyme 761-6600 Cumberland Gymnastics 245-0561 Rich Valley Gymnastics 697-3107 Viper Gym 932-9099 CVYCA will offer FREE tumbling to all CVYCA participants during the summer months. Free tumbling is an excellent opportunity to practice what is learned in tumbling classes but should not take the place of lessons. Please watch for email updates and check the website for specific days and times. Join the CVYCA Mailing List to Receive CVYCA Updates Please join the CVYCA mailing list at the bottom of our homepage at www.cvcheer.org. It is extremely important for all CVYCA families to join the website. We will use the mailing list to notify our families of uniform fittings (cheerleaders wear bathing suits to fittings) and TUMBLING SESSIONS held during the summer at Eagle View Middle School.
